CD-review by Acoustic Music:

Nora Buschmann - Apassionata Latina -  Acoustic Music Records
2007

In addition to her refined playing culture, her elegant tone and highly nuanced performance, this winner of the German Music Council stipendium shows a remarkable sense of independence and extends the boundaries of classical guitar music with her in-depth knowledge of Mediterranean mentality, eastern European musical culture and Latin American joie de vivre. On her third album, she reveals what she considers “music for life”, with a Brazilian choro and modinha, an Argentinean chacarera and a milonga. Nora Buschmann, sure-fingered in her expression, with outstanding sound, filled with elegance and fire, shows why she has won numerous international guitar competitions. And while the press describes this artist and her performances as “intelligent and sensitive” and “lively and spunky”, one must absolutely add attributes such as open-minded, grandiose and captivating.

CD-review by Bridge Guitar Revues:

Nora Buschmann Suite Orientale Acoustic Music Records
2003

Guitarist Nora Buschmann was born in Berlin and studied classical guitar at the Conservatory. She has won prizes in national and international competitions. Following her first solo album, Live in Bern, she's now released her new cd, Suite Orientale. Rather than recording the standard classical repertoire, she plays pieces by very interesting young composers such as Dusan Bogdanovic and Carlo Domeniconi. The first suite she plays is the Levantine Suite, by Bogdanovic. Her approach to classical guitar is complex, and she plays very expressively, intimately and with emotion, creating an atmosphere that is quite spiritual. One feels emotionally involved when hearing her structured composing qualities in beautiful landscapes. On Variations on an Anatolian Folksong by Carlo Domeniconi, and Taqsim, she excels with her talent for fantastic improvising, creating melancholic moods, and playing with great rhythmical nuances. Omar's Fancy contains very percussive elements in varied chord changes. Koyanbaba Suite opus 19 has Indian and Turkish influences. Domeniconi became famous for creating music using these tonal systems. Nora Buschmann is able to captivate the listener with her brilliant arrangements
by young composers, and by using a fascinating technique, balance, structure and a profound approach to classical guitar.
